Sapporo beer, first brewed in Japan in 1876, is described as “a perfectly balanced taste that’s irresistible to all”. By that I hope it’s not full of addictive elements. Let’s see.

Very crisp and golden, with a normal lager head. This beer looks great in the glass. No aroma at all. It’s as though they have filtered out all of the smell to make it as crisp as it looks. Luckily the beer does have some taste. It is crisp on the tongue, with a slight hop and bitterness to the middle and after tastes. There is not much body to this lager, and the after taste is a bit too bitter after a while, without the initial bitternesses. This makes it a bit lop-sided when drinking the beer.

Summary. The beer is very crisp, with no aroma and a clean taste. There is an underlying bitterness which is not in character to the lager, and is a bit annoying after a while.
